Guerilla Urbanism in the USA

"Is counterculture getting mainstream?"

That's just one of the questions Cathy Lang Ho, curator of this year's US pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, asks in an ArtInfo interview. She says, “In a subtle way, every project we're showing is a form of protest.” It is certainly no coincidence that the exhibition's title, Spontaneous Interventions, has the same acronym as the Situationist International from the 1960s.

The US pavilion will open with the biennale on 29 August – and uncube will be there to cover the entire event in the forthcoming issue of our magazine...
