This is Not a Garage

Just in case you misunderstood Herzog & deMeuron's spectacular project “1111 Lincoln Road” in Florida (USA) as a parking garage (like we did), here is a very nice movie where its proprietor Robert Wennett explains that it is in fact a center for cultural and civic life: a three-dimensional public and social gathering space, used for dinner parties, photo shootings, yoga, or weddings, simply offering the additional option to also arrive by car.

This video by Elizabeth Priore is a Semifinalist in the Focus Forward Filmmaker Competition and is in the running to become the $100,000 Grand Prize Winner. You can vote for it via Vimeo.
