Urban-Think-Tank rocks Venice Biennale

Surprise in Venice: The Golden Lion for the Best Project of the International Exhibition Common Ground goes to the Favela Café Bar installation Torre David / Gran Horizonte by Urban Think Tank (Caracas), Justin McGuirk and Iwan Baan – and to the families living inside the Torre David, who created a new community and a home out of an unfinished, abandoned building.

The Golden Lion for the Best National Participation is awarded to the Japanese Pavilion curated by Toyo Ito. The Silver Lion of the International Exhibition is awarded to Grafton Architects (Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara) as a promising and emerging practice.

Watch our Interview with Alfredo Brillembourg and Hubert Klumpner (Urban-Think Tank)
