Timeless architecture and outstanding furniture design: Le Corbusier is considered one of the most significant architects of the 20th century. His work has had a substantial influence on architecture and design to this day. For Le Corbusier, colour was just as important as layout and form for his buildings and designs. He created his unique colour system in two stages – with 43 subdued tones in 1931 and with 20 powerfully dynamic shades in 1959. What makes this special is that each of these colours can be combined with any other in the system. In consequence of these notable properties and the unique depth of colour, this palette of colours remains an inspiration to this day.

LS 990 meets Le Corbusier

Confident with the extraordinary qualities of this colour system, JUNG now offers its classic LS 990 switch design worldwide, exclusively in the unique Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier colours. To illustrate the impressive depth of this colour range, the switches are hand-painted using a special process. This produces a matt surface.

As well as switches, sockets, rotary and touch dimmers, JUNG also offers its KNX F 50 touch sensors in the Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier colours. The control elements for operating the KNX room functions and multimedia are also integrated into this unique colour system.  

With the JUNG modular assembly system, all the LS 990 articles in the Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier colours can of course be combined with any other modules in the LS range.

INNOVATIVE ICONIC BATHROOM DESIGN

One of the few true classics

Alape launched their EW 3 model 44 years ago, and to date, this revolutionary basin is still an icon in bathroom design. With its compact, round shape, and immaculate white glaze, EW 3 was designed as a built-in basin for washstand surfaces. It was the first industrially produced basin of its kind, and its visionary design, which eliminated the need of a separate ceramic basin, marked a revolution in bathroom architecture. The EW 3 basin became incredibly popular, as it fitted perfectly in smaller homes.

With EW 3.2 a revised version is now been unveiled, which will not replace the classic model but rather complement it as a modern and technically advanced alternative. Both products are available in parallel – with their circular shape and the typical kidney-shaped hollow, designed for use with a single-lever mixer on the edge of the basin.

Perfection and manufacturing expertise

EW 3.2 incorporates state of the art features employing the latest manufacturing technology advancements. Its most prominent feature is the omission of the PVC tape, which seals the border between basin and countertop. Thanks to new edge treatment methods, this tape is no longer needed in the new version. The EW 3.2 is easily and invisibly sealed with silicone, which also makes it absolutely watertight.  Four fixing clips also prevent the basin from slipping out of position on the countertop.

Thanks to a new fully glazed white bottom, it is now also possible to integrate the basin harmoniously into open systems, which are often preferred in architectural and interior design projects. With an edge height reduced by two millimetres, the EW 3.2 appears even more delicate. These extremely subtle modifications enhance and perfect one of the most significant and certainly most inspiring basins in the history of bathroom design, whilst staying true to its original idea. Both models are presented at the same level: Whether the EW 3 or EW 3.2 - it's the customer who makes the decision.

The new EW 3.2 version lines up naturally within A form's extensive collection, with the widest range of shapes and varieties in the sector.

Stand-Up: Promoting a new culture of movement

At Orgatec 2014 Wilkhahn’s presenting more than just established furniture solutions. The company’s also showcasing an innovative perch-like stool that interprets Wilkhahn’s “Office for motion” concept for informal communication.

A health-boosting concept…
Movement benefits our bodies, minds and social interaction. The purpose of Stand-up is to provide a new form of motion in office environments, for example when taking breaks, holding informal chats or meetings. The product was based on a one-legged milking stool that can be tipped in any direction. Because people using both legs to turn one-legged stools into stable three-legged ones are fostering the full flexibility of their buttocks. So they’re improving their balancing skills and activating the muscles in their backs, shoulders and necks, as well as hip, knee and ankle joints.

… and fun appeal.
Stand-up is the epitome of a fun approach to the serious side of (working) life. In a nutshell, Stand-up is the roly-poly version of a stool and keeps balance and senses alert. And it’s all in the name, because from angles of up to 50° the chair automatically returns to its basic angle of 10° from the vertical. In addition to design aspects, the stool's slight angle when unused also underscores one of its most important features. It indicates that it’s a dynamic, flexible support and not a stable, static stool.

Cone-shaped design.
Stand-up looks like a rounded cone with an upholstered seat inserted into it like a lid. Both the body and the cushioned seat are fully covered in three-dimensional fabric. This lends Stand-up a highly contemporary look. The stool’s sole is made of anti-slip, black plastic and sets itself apart from the conical-shaped body.

Stand-up also has an ingenious belt with a strap, making it easy to just pick up…

Tiled showers are out: Bathroom planners opt for reliable material that combines quality with exclusive design language

Builders and modernisers today are increasingly shifting towards floor-level showers with easy, barrier-free access. Whereas tiled shower floors were still considered stylish up until a few years ago, today’s aesthetic and innovative product solutions have come to set entirely new standards. Specialists now frequently recommend enamelled shower surfaces made by the German premium supplier Kaldewei whose various products have won some 100 design awards. Greater efficiency, easier installation

Brine-to-water heat pumps from the WPC line can be split for transport

A fresh appearance and a new addition to the family of compact, interior ground source heat pumps from STIEBEL ELTRON: the WPC line, with integrated 200 litre domestic hot water heater as standard, is being expanded by a further size – the WPC 4 rounds off the range in the low heat load range. The entire line has been optimised too: the use of new components has made it possible for us to further increase efficiency. At the same time, the new generation of appliances impresses with a new, modern design.

The new WPC models score particularly well when it comes to ease of installation: the reduction in installation height and ease with which they can be split make it perfectly straightforward to house the units in the utility room even when space is confined. It is also helped by hydraulic connections, which are convenient to reach from the side, and the control box in the top section, so that there is no need to separate the wiring. Moreover, there is still no need to handle refrigerants during installation and commissioning either.

The heat pumps are operated by a new, modern controller, which, like the new style, has been adapted for the superior STIEBEL ELTRON design line. Every WPC is available as a cool model with additional cooling function.

Stiebel Eltron All-in-one unit LWZ 304 / 404 SOL

For new buildings, a controlled ventilation system is an absolute must these days in view of the higher air tightness. So it’s only advantageous when the unit responsible for building services can not only provide the central supply and exhaust air with heat recovery, but also take care of the heating, hot water production and cooling. This isn’t a problem for the integral unit LWZ 304/404 SOL from STIEBEL ELTRON, as it unites all these building service functions in a single device – including an additional connection possibility to a solar system as a basic feature. Then it tops this all off with an extra feature: those who equip the unit with the new Internet service gateway can keep an overview on all their data – the entire system can be conveniently adjusted via the Internet.

The ventilation system with cross counterflow heat exchanger is assimilated into the integral unit LWZ 304 SOL, as is the air | water heat pump, whose efficiency is further increased by residual energy from the air already exchanged. This ensures that heating and hot water are supplied in the most efficient way possible. What’s more, thanks to the reversible refrigeration cycle, rooms can also be cooled via the heating areas or fan convectors. Naturally, a hot water tank is already included in the unit as well, which allows the continuous availability of up to 235 litres of hot water.

The all-in-one unit LWZ 304 / 404 SOL from STIEBEL ELTRON has been awarded one of the most coveted design prizes in the world for its outstanding design: the “red dot award product design 2011”.

The ambition and significance of the design of spaces, both of those used in the home and those in prestigious public buildings, are based on this. True perfection can only be seen in the details, on locks and fittings from FSB in the consistency of the material, among other things. Cast glass

Lambert produces every existing type of cast glass: LAMBERTS LINITU-profile glasspatterned glass (and also special patterned glass for facades), solar glass (optimized cast glass for the efficient use of solar energy) as well as wired and wired patterned glass. Lamberts was founded in 1887 by glass engineer Laurenz Lamberts. Since then the company has been a family-owned business and is the only medium-sized company in Europe to manufacture cast glass without being bound by any group.

Another technical feature is the conical angled fold, which carries out several functions at once:
- Optimal protection against driving rain and wet conditions
- Support for any lateral strain
- Improvement of self-cleaning thanks to dirt being washed away more effectively

External Venetian blind with flat slats

These highly flexible, fine flat slats provide a maximum view to the outside when in the shielding position. In renovations where the space available for the slat stack is limited, these external venetian blinds with flat slats are the ideal solution. Because of its filigree design, the version in combination with cable guidance is popular as well. Lateral guide rails, powder-coated from the RAL Classic Colour Chart, are design highlights on the facade.

Award winner: Folding glass door

Multiple award winner: Folding glass door SL 82

The SL 82 is a heat-insulated folding glass door with an all-glass look and a flat exterior glass surface. This innovative product is based on our tried and tested SL 80 folding glass door system but appears virtually frameless. In spite of being a mere 8 mm in width, the aluminium surround provides optimal edge protection for the glazing. The all-over all-glass look is achieved using stepped-edge glazing that covers the section.
