  Who cares how everything works – so long as it works, right?

  The complex systems of utilities, goods, waste and data underpinning daily life are largely invisible to us. We only become aware of the sheer volume of this infrastructural traffic when some aspect of it breaks down.

   Ignorance is dangerous. We can lose agency when these systems become too abstracted, despite the fact that we depend on them. uncube issue 15 ventures beyond static architecture to investigate the “veins” coursing through and around our cities and lives, hidden in plain sight.
